Meet Our Partner - The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee
Have you heard? We are delighted that the Smyrna Senior Citizens Center has received a $100,000 grant from The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Over the next six months, these funds will be used to support our short-term expansion/renovation program and will help us to enlarge some of our existing rooms, build a ramp at our side door and to build additional storage space.
The Community Foundation awarded grants to 121 organizations statewide as part of a one-time Serving Tennessee's Seniors discretionary grant-making process.
"We are thrilled to have the support of The Community Foundation. This grant allows us to make room for our growing membership."
Funding of Serving Tennessee's Seniors was provided by the Chancery Court and administered by The Community Foundation through the settlement of a lawsuit initiated by Tennessee Attorney General Bob Cooper against both Senior Trust and Elder Trust. Outcomes achieved by each grantee will be reported to the Court and available to the public on an interim basis. Final results will be available by July 2017.

The Senior Activity Center of Smyrna members are always excited to participate in special events. These events include such things as Holiday Celebrations, Older Americans Luncheon, Ice Cream Socials, and Fundraisers. Our fundraisers include an indoor Everything Sale, a Spaghetti Dinner, Wine Tasting at the Depot, Concerts, Craft Sales and Cookbooks.
